TMM News

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Ruth Robinson for receiving a Recognition Award from Toddington Parish Council for outstanding contributions made to the community. Thank you for all your enthusiasm and energy in leading Toddington MusicMakers and Toddington Singing Cafe which makes such a difference to all those who attend!

An extract from interesting article in The Daily Telegraph 24/1/24 about delaying the onset of Alzheimer's in those at risk.

This demonstrates how important music is for brain health and wellbeing

We will miss you!

We said a sad goodbye to Rob at our rehearsal last week as he leaves us to start a new adventure in Manchester. Rob has been a member of Toddington MusicMakers since 2016 and we have loved listening to his lyrical guitar playing. He has been so supportive of the group in many different ways including helping other players and lending a hand whenever needed. We will miss you Rob but wish you every happiness in your new home.

TSC Summer Party

There were no "summer time blues" when TMM played for the singing cafe summer party!

Families were invited to join in with the fun too. Age was no barrier - from 1 to 93 - we all had a good time.

During the morning we enjoyed an imaginary trip to the seaside. This included a "stroll along the prom, prom prom", having "just one cornetto" and "singing in the rain" whilst looking for "my bonnie" who was somewhere lying over the ocean

A Fond Farewell

We were very sad to have to say goodbye to Simon this Summer.

Simon is one of the founder members of Toddington MusicMakers and has done sterling work as our treasurer for many years.

He has been an incredibly loyal member of the group, rarely missing rehearsals and always supporting our fund-raising efforts. We will miss his fantastic clarinet playing, especially those descants and counter- melodies.

We all wish him the best of luck with his new adventures and hope that he will come back to see us when he visits Todddington.
